Autumn is here in Rangeley, and we could not be more excited about it! The fall months offer some of the most gorgeous views, perfect weather, and relaxing ambience anywhere in the country, and we look forward to seeing our return guests and our new visitors year after year. In particular, Rangeley’s foliage is known for its beauty and vibrance, and the deep reds and yellows bring nature-lovers from all over to visit. 

If you’re interested in experiencing the leaves up close, it’s a great idea to start at the Rangeley Lake Trail Center. With over 55 km of secluded, scenic recreational trails for walking, running, biking and more, these trails provide the best way to experience the sights and smells of Autumn in the entire Rangeley Lake region. Guided tours are also available, allowing you to learn even more about the surrounding area while taking in the foliage. 

If fishing in the fall is more to your taste, then Rangeley Region Sport Shop has everything for both the beginner and experienced fly fisher! From equipment and information on the best spots, to guided tours of the area, Rangeley Region Sport Shop is a historic location in our area and invaluable for anyone looking for great fishing this fall. 

There are also plenty of beautiful scenic drives in the area from which to take in the changing scenery. From the Height of Land, a panoramic scenic turnout with expansive views and educational information about the area to the Whip Willow Farm Overlook with stunning views of Rangeley Lake and the surrounding mountains, seeing Rangeley by car is one of our guests’ most popular choices.

The ever-popular Saddleback Mountain is another of our favorite spots to experience fall, and we hope you’ll have a chance to visit as well! Explore Rangeley with their Registered Maine Guides as part of their Saddleback Adventures package, where you can experience anything from guided hiking, mountain biking, watersports, fly casting, birding trips and more, all with some of the best views in the area. 

Saddleback will also be hosting their annual Fall Festival as a thank you to the community and as a way to kick off the busy Winter season! Taking place in the first weekend of October, this is a free family-friendly day of events, including a potluck, music, kids activities, a costume contest, and more. Be sure to get your tickets in advance!
